Workshop balances
Workshop balance in the workshop is done in 3 ways: single-plane balance (static), two-plane balance (dynamic) and three-plane balance (couple).
The two main types of workshop balancers are hard bearing and soft bearing, the difference being in their suspension system and not in the bearings used.
In hard bearing machines, balancing is done with a lower frequency than the resonance frequency of the device. In soft bearing machines, balancing is done at a higher frequency than the resonant frequency of the device. Both types of machines have different advantages and disadvantages.
Hard bearing machines can be used in large weight ranges because these machines use force sensors and require only one calibration during operation. Only five geometrical dimensions should be given to the device so that the device is ready to work. Therefore, according to the above, these types of machines are suitable for production purposes because they do not need calibration and work in a larger weight range. In soft bearings, the weight of the rotor installed for workshop balance affects its vibration behavior, so in this type of bearings, the need for separate calibration is felt for each rotor. These machines are more sensitive and as a result have better workshop balance. A vibration sensor is installed on the bearings to measure, and a speed sensor is used for soft bearing machines. The output of these types of sensors increases in proportion to the speed of vibrations.
A sensor photocell is used to measure the speed of rotation of the rotor and also to determine the zero angle of the rotor during the balancing operation. When using a photocell, a reflective dot (shiny tape) must be used to activate the sensor. Of course, it should be noted that the length of the shiny strip should be long enough for the sensor to detect it based on the environment of the device.
